Our second interviewee in our Empowered series is #professionalgoals. Meet Kyshira Moffet, Author, Entrepreneur, Content Creator and founder of Life of a Bombshell cosmetics and the Her Movement. Specializing in brand strategy for entrepreneurs, Kyshira is no stranger to the web. Getting to know the gal behind the popular brands, this week we’re grabbing a cup of coffee and picking the brain of this entrepreneurial mastermind.
1.) What inspired you to start your companies?
My first coaching business actually centered around career development and personal branding. As my reputation began to grow, entrepreneurs began to reach out for assistance with leveraging social platforms such as LinkedIn to brand their business. I recognized that I loved working with entrepreneurs and decided to do away with career coaching and solely offer brand coaching. It worked very well because my blog, #HERmovement, covered mostly business and branding topics. #HERmovement was created for multipassionate women on the rise within their careers and businesses so it was a natural fit for my audience to begin offering products and services in this space. Present day, #HERmovement now offers books, digital products and a monthly membership community for new and aspiring entrepreneurs. The Power Collective is where my private coaching services are now offered. My second company is Life of a Bombshell Cosmetics. With this brand I offer lipsticks, eyeshadow palettes, makeup brushes and much more.
2.) Any big projects coming in the future?
Now that my latest book, All in Favor of Branding has launched, I am now focused on promoting my upcoming events. The first is the Hustle HER Way Summit which is a 2 day event occurring in Pittsburgh, PA, June 28 – 29, 2019. The second is The Power Circle Retreat which is a 4 day experience in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, October 10 – 14, 2019.
3.) When did you start out in the cosmetic industry?
Life of a Bombshell Cosmetics launched in April 2017 and started as a passion project. I’ve also had a love for makeup and the industry in itself. It was meant to be a small lipstick line but has quickly blossomed into more.
4.) Where do you see the brands in 10 years?
With Life of a Bombshell Cosmetics, I hope to see the brand sold in chic boutiques and stores where women can see the products in person. With #HERmovement and The Power Collective, I look forward to hosting more international retreats, speaking at conferences and writing best selling books.
5.) Do you have any tips for women in business?
Do the inner work first. Conquer your mindset and learn to push past your fears. Otherwise, you will face self sabotage in your business.
6.) On juggling your own businesses, how do you find balance in life?
Lately its been a struggle to be honest. But what I found that helps me is prescheduling time for myself. Whether that’s going to the spa or having a quiet night of meditation, adding it to my calendar makes it a negotiable. I also allocate certain days of the week for meetings and calls which I rarely ever compromise on.
7.) How do you hope to empower women in business or with an imprint you’d like to leave?
I hope to empower women in business by showing them what can happen when you feel the fear and do it anyway. I never thought I’d actually have the chance to be a full time entrepreneur, let alone a serial entrepreneur. Don’t let your fears or naysayers hold you back from pursuing your passion.
