Shakira’s New Single ‘The Boss’ Sparks Controversy Amid Ex Gerard Pique Drama

At 45, Shakira’s new single ‘The Boss’ sparks controversy amid ex Gerard Pique drama. The Colombian songstress Shakira has channeled her music again to direct her attention towards her former flame, 36-year-old footballer Gerard Pique. This time, her latest single has emerged with the title “The Boss,” as reported by The Sun. The chosen title cryptically references a rumored moniker that Gerard’s friends used during their relationship, labeling her as “La Patron.” The referenced title means “The Boss,” seemingly highlighting her contentious reputation.
This recent occurrence marks another instance of Shakira leveraging her music as a medium to convey her sentiments regarding her ex-partner.

In January, she unleashed a “diss track” titled “Shakira Bzrp Music Sessions 53,” replete with pointed jibes aimed at Gerard. Within its verses, she cheekily proclaims, “A lot of gyms, but work your brain a little bit too.” The song also aims at Gerard’s preferences, noting, “I’m worth two 22’s. You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo. You traded a Rolex for a Casio,” and following up with,”From love to hate, there’s only one step.” Shakira concludes with what appears to be well-wishing to her presumed successor, Clara. The lyrics, “She’s got the name of a good person, Clearly is not how it sounds,” slyly play Clara’s name in Spanish.

Shakira recently graced the stage with her fiery track at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards. In addition to her performance, she delivered a sensational medley of her chart-toppers, culminating with an audacious crowd dive. This act earns her a rousing standing ovation from the enthralled audience. Notably, her two sons, Milan and Sasha, aged nine and seven, attended the event to support their mother. Shakira made history as the first South American artist to receive the prestigious Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

During her acceptance speech, Shakira extended her heartfelt appreciation to her family, loyal fans, and the dedicated women who have played pivotal roles in her career. Speaking in Spanish, she conveyed her gratitude to the Latin American community, both within and outside the country. Her appreciation was for their unwavering support and inspirational influence.

Shakira’s music remains a catalyst for debate and intrigue as she navigates the intricacies of her personal and professional life in the unforgiving glare of the spotlight.
