I wish I had more time… Traci Braxton

Hey Sis,

You probably heard already about the death of Traci Braxton the sister of Toni and Tamar Braxton. She passed away on Saturday from Cancer and was just 50 years old.

When I heard the news I was so shocked because I use to watch Braxton Family Values all the time and couldn’t wait for Traci to bring the funny and the drama. Like everyone else, I started scrolling Instagram to see when she made her last post, what she look like, and if her family posted anything.

While scrolling, I came across her son’s Instagram with this picture. Immediately my heart sank. This picture says so much to me.

Traci Braxton

I see “Why me?”, “I love you son more than you know!”, I also see “I wish I had more time!”

As I started to tear up, I just started feeling grateful. Grateful that I was able to open my eyes, walk to the bathroom, drink some tea, laugh with friends.

I kept imaging what this journey was like for her. The anger, the depression, the pain, and then the peace. Most of all I was thinking about how much we waste time thinking about things that DON’T MATTER! We stop our dreams and put ourselves on the back burner because we believe we have time. .

I imagined the conversations she had with her husband and son. The laughs she had with her sisters, and the healing that took place. The positivity she had that she was going to beat the disease, to the realization that she had limited time.

That’s why we always have to wake up and be grateful for the life we have and LIVE IT TO THE FULLEST! To make it a point to choose ourselves when necessary, and dig deep for self love because we never know when it’s our time.

Stay in peace,
Gloria
