Learning How To Trust Yourself

When I was growing my confidence I realized I needed three things to help me, the first was self-respect, the second was self-trust, and the third was self-love. I want to dive into talking about how to trust yourself.

Keeping Your Word

Keeping your word is a great way to build trust. When you are able to follow through with others and yourself it proves to yourself that you are capable. Start small, sometimes it is easier to show up for others then it is for ourselves. If you find yourself in that situation start there. Practice following through when you make plans. Then start showing up for yourself.

Set small tasks for yourself so you can practice succeeding at them. If you find yourself not following through make the task smaller and more manageable. Over time the more you show up for yourself the more trust you will build and you will be able to take on bigger and bigger things.

Taking Aligned Action

I chatted a little about taking aligned action in part one. Taking action is a way to help you build evidence in self-belief. Remember that you are taking action in a way to build trust with yourself. You will be able to build trust with yourself when your actions align with the person you want to be. It is important to take action from this aligned space.

Showing Yourself You Believe In Yourself

Have you ever heard of a gratitude practice? This is where every day you write down the things you are grateful for. This is an awesome practice that helps you feel joy about the life you currently have. I also think it is important to have a self-appreciation practice. This is a practice where you write down the ways you have showed up for yourself.

If you struggle with low self-esteem you are probably beating yourself up a lot. When we beat ourselves up or talk negatively about yourself it erodes your self-trust. When you practice celebrating yourself and your accomplishments you are able to deepen the trust you have for yourself.

Self-trust is a key ingredient to confidence. When you trust yourself you are able to show up for yourself in new ways. You are able to believe in yourself and take aligned action.
