“In order to love who you are, you cannot hate the experiences that shaped you.” -Andrea Dyksta
It’s that time of the year, where the hustle and bustle starts because holidays are here. This is time some individuals go through a depression from winter blues, a loved one is not here to celebrate the season and tough times are still in existence. This is definitely something we deal with daily throughout the year but for some reason during holidays it goes up 100% more.
Experiences from all walks of life hits everyone; it doesn’t discriminate at all. Lemons have become a metaphor we use when life is tough but I want to encourage you in this moment and move forward, “See your cup more full than empty.” How? Everything you have been through is part of your journey and nothing has stopped you thus far. You are still here. You still have purpose. You are loved, needed and respected. You have more for you than against you. You are making it happen!
Life is what you make of it. The sun will rise, the moon will go down and they say the world turns so why not make your life smell like roses, with a box of your favorite chocolate and a little bit of good red wine to top it off. Well, let’s say your favorite things! In reality, we can’t turn back the hands of time to stop what was already part of your purpose with the roads already paved for you to tread on. We can make the most of it all by being grateful.
Don’t get me wrong, I have been through many of life’s roller coaster rides but I want my life to be filled with life, love and laughter. We can still work on us growing greater, investing in self love, healing from broken places and living boldly in the presence. In the midst of all that, never forget to be grateful for every road you have traveled. You have the best stories to tell through the experiences you have encountered. Let your story be told in the words of victory instead of the woe it’s me.
