Letting Go Before the New Year: How to Release What No Longer Serves You

Alright, ladies — 2025 is just around the corner, which means it’s time to get rid of all the stuff (physical, mental, and emotional) that’s been hanging around like that one sweater you swear you’ll wear but never do. The start of a new year provides the perfect opportunity to say “goodbye” to the things that just don’t serve you anymore but somehow still manage to take up space in your life.

Beyoncé Knowles-Carter: Arise News

Beyoncé Knowles-Carter continues to break barriers and redefine music history. With 11 nominations for the 2025 Grammy Awards, she’s now the most-nominated artist of all time, surpassing even her husband, Jay-Z. Her latest album, Cowboy Carter, marked a historic first for the artist, earning Beyoncé Grammy nods in the country and American roots categories—a rare achievement for a Black woman.

Her groundbreaking album scored multiple nominations, including Album of the Year and Best Country Album. Beyoncé’s song collaborations also shine in these nominations, with 16 Carriages up for Best Country Solo Performance and II Most Wanted, featuring Miley Cyrus, competing for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. Seven songs from Cowboy Carter are nominated across four different genres. This showcases Beyoncé’s versatility and genre-defying talent.

For the Beyhive, these nominations are especially thrilling, as fans eagerly await the possibility of Beyoncé finally winning the coveted Album of the Year award. Despite her monumental influence, Beyoncé has yet to take home this honor. Meanwhile, it has only been awarded to three Black women in Grammy history.

Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter has been a catalyst in bringing Black voices to country music. In this genre, representation has long been limited. Her nominations signal a turning point for the music industry, proving that genres can be blended and reimagined.

What do you think—will the Grammys finally honor Beyoncé with Album of the Year? As a woman and a Black one at that, what barriers do Beyoncé’s achievements inspire you to break?
