What do you see when you look in the mirror?
I see a woman aging beautifully. I know the youth of yesteryears and the wisdom I have gained along the way.
What do you do for a living?
I am a Mindfulness and Meditation Specialist and the founder of Meditating Together, which helps people discover the power (and beauty) of living mindfully.
How do you think self-love plays a role in success?
Self- love is what keeps me growing. Having self-love gives me confidence. It gives me purpose and the motivation to go after what my heart guides me to go after. It does not matter if I succeed or not. It is all about honoring myself. To me, that is self-love.
How do you think we, as women, can work together to lift each other?
Women need to work together instead of seeing one another as competition. I believe that there is enough abundance in this world that if two people are offering the same thing, they don’t have to compete. Each one will resonate differently, which is great. More people are getting the service.
This also connects to self-love. When we, as women, love ourselves, there is no need to compete at all. We begin to understand that what will be, will be, and celebrating the wins of our sisters create a true circle of esteem and respect.
Have you had any adversities that you’ve had to overcome in order to achieve success?
I experienced grief from the man I loved dying by suicide while on the brink of finishing my masters on time. The pain was indescribable, but I look back and see resilience through the pain. I chose to continue serving others, in spite of my own suffering.
I knew that my purpose is needed in the world, and despite the pain of grief, I still had to deliver it.
What has been your greatest accomplishment to date?
I am one of the first ten people in the United States to receive a Master’s degree in Mindfulness Studies.I’m grateful that my accomplishments align with giving back to others.
What inspires you to keep growing?
Life is bigger than me. The moment I discovered my purpose, I realized that all things work together, and I am here to remind others to simply breathe and live intentionally though it all.
