Turning a New Leaf: Embracing Transformation in Life’s Fall

When we think of autumn, images of fall leaves and nature’s yellow hues conjure in our minds. Long summer days turn to cool, early nights, and we welcome seasonal favorites like pumpkin spice lattes. You see, the autumn season brings change, but with it comes new pleasures. Similarly, women go through seasons of transformation – and the fall season can offer some of the most unexpected and rewarding benefits.

A Color Change

Consider how life’s autumn/fall season mimics that of nature. As the tree’s green leaves fade to yellow in the fall, we may assume a new color has appeared. But in reality, the green merely suppressed the leaves’ yellow hue. The bright yellows in the leaves finally prevail during fall’s increased carotene production.

For women, carotenes are like wisdom. The older we get, the wiser we become. So, we begin to let go of green naiveties and embrace life’s truths. Some of these truths are hard to swallow. We’ll experience the bitter taste of heartbreak, career setbacks, and unexpected barriers. The ways we respond to these experiences are our defining moments.

Letting Go of Suppression

So, take control and decide what your transformation will look like. Just as the yellow was suppressed, so are some of our strengths. As we step into the fall season, it’s time to unlock those strengths. Positive experiences often breed positive responses – we gain confidence, increase knowledge, and learn to connect with people.

However, negative experiences can derive both positive and negative reactions. In the best cases, we learn to overcome obstacles. But, sometimes, negative experiences can send us spiraling in the wrong direction – derailing us from progress and leading to self-limiting thinking. Embracing transformation is essential to overcome self-imposed limitations caused by fear, insecurities, and uncomfortable experiences.

The journey towards self-growth can be scary, but with a network of supportive people guiding you to your destiny, you’ll find embracing life’s changes can be rewarding. A conference like Becoming Truly You can be instrumental during this self-discovery period. It is a safe space for women to embark on a transformational journey.

A Blanket of Protection

Your transformation will be a reflection of your outlook. Think again of the fall leaves. Instead of seeing signs of lifelessness when the yellow leaves fade and fall to the ground, recognize the beautiful transition occurring before you. The leaves have become a blanket of protection, shielding the grass from the bitter cold on the horizon. Similarly, it’s necessary to view your transformation through a positive lens. Recognize the wisdom you have gained through the seasons of life and how it has prepared you for what comes next.

The Start of a Chapter

Like the tree shedding its former coat of glory to make room for new sprouts, you’re closing the door on a chapter you’ve outgrown only to allow space for the next chapter to unfold. Embracing life’s seasons with confidence is essential to find prosperity and joy in the next chapter.

Maybe you’re at a juncture where you’re re-evaluating what you want next: a career shift, career advancement, or entrepreneurship. Perhaps your goals aren’t focused on your career but rather on finding a better balance – whether you’re a stay-at-home mom preparing to re-enter the workforce or a career-driven mom seeking more time with your kids. Navigate these moments courageously to step into the life you’re meant to live.

Look at life’s autumn/fall season as an opportunity for personal growth. By embracing each transition, you can learn to adopt a positive outlook. Join us at Becoming Truly You and begin embracing change with resilience. It’s time to move past limitations and into the next phase of success.
